Registry Errors - How to Fix Them

If you have noticed that your computer has slowed down dramatically or that it is not working as well it was before then it may well be that you have registry errors that need to be fixed. It is important to know what registry errors are as well as the steps on how to fix them to make sure your computer or laptop is running as it should be. How or why do registry errors occur? The main reason is due to obsolete entries from programs that you may have installed on your computer or laptop. One way would be by opening and checking your registry directory. You can do this by:

1. Clicking Start, and then click Run.

2. Type Regedit, and then click OK.

You will then choose HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE from the entries and then select

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE from the menu.

Here you will find all programs that you installed as well as the history left behind of those you removed from your computer. Getting to the registry directory is not a problem. However, knowing where to look and what entry to delete is. It is almost impossible for an experienced user to know how to do this, much less for average Windows user since there are millions of registry entries. What can you do then? Luckily there are programs that can help you detect and fix any errors on your computer or laptop by doing a registry scan. Dedicated programs that scan your registry directory are very useful and detrimental to the health and protection of your PC or laptop.
